Chief Technology and Innovation Officer, Association for Computing Machinery Manoa

The Association for Computing Machinery Manoa is the University of Hawaii at Manoa's chapter of the international learned society Association for Computing Machinery (ACM). There are more than 860 professional and student ACM chapters worldwide. ACM brings together computing educators, researchers, and professionals to inspire dialogue, share resources, and address the field's challenges. As the world’s largest computing society, ACM strengthens the profession's collective voice through strong leadership, promotion of the highest standards, and recognition of technical excellence. The Chapter consists of 1,000+ members ranging from Faculty, Staff, Students, and Alumni.

  • Attended weekly board meetings
  • Brainstormed ideas for improving the productivity of the Chapter
  • Implement and manage software solutions that keep the Chapter efficient
  • Architected and Led a small team of web developers to create web applications including an attendance tracker which used React, Material UI, and Firebase
  • Coordinated the Spring 2023 UH Tech and Intelligence Career Fair which brought 175 students with Computer Science and Tech backgrounds together with 31 of Hawaii's top Tech Industry employers

Programming and Algorithms is a special interest group within the larger Association for Computing Machinery Manoa organization

  • Solve problem sets in teams using algorithms at weekly meetings
  • In August of 2022, became an officer which allows me to mentor underclassmen on Algorithms. This also provides practice for gaining a better understanding of Algorithms.

2nd Place - Meteor Hackathon 2022, Meteor

Out of 92 registered teams, my team placed second. We created a Web App using Meteor, React, Bootstrap, and the Google Maps API. The theme Making an Impact, our team sus-GAWKY created a gamified sustainability tracker that compares your progress with others in the community. In addition, the app will allow you to compare your community with other communities nearby to see how your community is doing in relation to others. Undergraduate students are awarded the Dean's List distinction if they: (1) earn a semester grade point average of 3.5 or higher based on 12 credits or more taken for a grade (C/NC courses do not count), and (2) do not receive grades of W, I, F, or NC for that semester.
